Day Dawn Mining Company Archive

The Day Dawn Mine was one of the richest gold deposits in the Charters Towers goldfields. The Day Dawn Reef ran right through Charters Towers Municipality. In 1878, Day Dawn Gold Mining Company Ltd was floated with shares at ten shillings each. Within a year it had paid a dividend of seven shillings and six pence.
