H.J. Burrows Archive

Herbert John (Bert) Burrows was a well-known figure in North Queensland from the 1930s. He was associated with the Queensland Ambulance Transport Brigade (QATB) for over twenty years until his death in1980, having worked with the QATB in Julia Creek, Cloncurry, Tully, Cardwell and Townsville. He was also involved with the Railway Ambulance Corps in 1946 in Nonda and then in Cardwell. In 1970, Burrows was awarded a medallion for twenty years’ service, but continued his interest as an honorary bearer.

The collection includes newspaper clippings and certificates.
