Hugh A. Borland Archive

Hugh A. Borland was the son of Irish immigrants, Alexander and Annie Borland. On leaving school he was employed as a copy-boy with the Cairns Post and went on to become perhaps its best known journalist. He was a prolific writer with a great love for, and interest in, the history of North Queensland, an interest he shared with his long-time friend, historian Glenville Pike.

This collection reflects the depth of Borland's involvement in the preservation of North Queensland's past, present and future.
