The inaugural meeting of the Wildlife Preservation Society of Queensland (W.P.S.Q) Gordonvale branch, was held on Friday 4/7/1969. The meeting was convened by Mr O'Grady who spoke in favour of the formation of a Gordonvale branch of the W.P.S.Q. The minutes of the Gordonvale branch go from the inaugural meeting on 4/7/1969 to 27/6/1972. Cairns branch minutes start from 6/10/1971.
