The objects of the group were
to aim to protect the remaining native environmental eco systems, fauna and flora in the Douglas Shire from fire, pollution, overuse, erosion and the wrong type of development,
to encourage community education and responsible attitudes to the environment,
to provide an information service to visitors that would enhance their understanding, respect and enjoyment of the environment,
to make every effort to ensure Council activity and developments are not detrimental to the environment,
to act quickly on notifying affiliated groups of any action detrimental to the natural environment that is in urgent need of protection,
to aid in the establishment of and to support other organizations formed to protect and conserve environment,
to raise funds by publications, films and general raffles and functions to help in the objections of the group
